Just 20 (hrs) is a continuation of the Just a (s)econd project, examining the measurement and translation of time through a new lens.
Time is conceptual. Our understanding of it is built upon the measurement of seconds, as defined by the atomic clock in physics. “In science, you want to say something nobody knew before, in words everyone can understand. In poetry, you are bound to say something that everybody knows already in words that nobody can understand” (Farmelo, The Strangest Man, 121).
Drawing on the duration of this exhibition, Just 20 (hrs) stretches time into perceptible embodiments and uses experience to measure the very thing that measures us, constituting a subjective sensation. It reflects on the nature of temporality while depicting the Dutch scene through an expat lens, layering cultural perspective onto the rhythm of time.

Showing on 20, 21 & 24 June 2025, at OSCAM, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Exhibitors namely, Alice Wan (Hong Kong), Guanyan Wu (Mainland China) & Ache C. Wang (France), Hanchen Zhang (Mainland China), Scinema (Colombia & Germany), Shao-Chun Hsu (Taiwan), Sisi Zhang (Mainland China), studiosamayam (India & Netherlands).
